Post-surgery rehab FAQs
When should I start physio after surgery?
It depends on your operation and your surgeon's instructions. Many people start within the first one to two weeks. Get in touch before your surgery and we'll plan around your date.
Do I need a referral from my surgeon?
No referral is needed. Please bring any discharge notes or rehab protocol your surgeon gave you, so we can follow it closely.
Can you come to my home after surgery?
Yes. We offer home visits across Dublin 6, including Ranelagh, Rathmines and Rathgar, for the early weeks when travelling is difficult.
How long will my rehab take?
It varies with the surgery. A knee or hip replacement usually takes a few months of rehab, while returning to sport after ACL reconstruction commonly takes 9–12 months. We'll give you a clear timeline at your first session.
